Check in at your locations

Reward your customers for visiting your stores

A strong loyalty program connects both online and offline interactions. With the “Check-in at your locations” earning flow, you can credit points to your customers when they visit one of your physical stores.

This is a simple way to encourage foot traffic and reward customers for engaging with your brand beyond purchases.

How is the earning calculated?

The number of points given is fixed and defined by you in the earning flow settings. Unlike purchase-based earning flows, this is not a percentage of spend but a flat number of points.

The process follows these steps:

  1. The customer visits one of your locations.
  2. They check in via the JeriCommerce tile on Shopify POS (QR scan or NFC reader).
  3. If the check-in meets the configured recurrence rules, the defined points are credited to their balance.

You can configure recurrence so that points are awarded:

  • One time only (first visit per location, no repeats),
  • Once per week/month/quarter/year, depending on how you want to structure repeat rewards.

Example

The merchant enables the “Check-in at your locations” earning flow and sets it to 10 points per visit, with a recurrence of one time per location.

  • A customer visits Store A and checks in using the NFC reader. They receive 10 points.
  • The same customer visits Store A again the following week. No points are awarded, since the recurrence is “one time per location.”
  • Later, the same customer visits Store B for the first time. They check in and receive another 10 points.

This ensures customers are rewarded fairly for visiting multiple stores, but not repeatedly for the same location.
